Autumn is upon us. And we are READY!

November 2, 2015

Autumn is upon us, and as the days start to darken and the cold draws in, it’s easy to forget about the lovely summer we have enjoyed. Whilst the temperature has only just started dropping, the rain and misty grey skies leave us in no doubt we are heading for winter. Before we start getting all excited about Christmas tree’s though (and here at Plant Designs we have been busy choosing trees and designing decorations since March!) let’s not forget that Autumn has lots to offer.

It was Halloween over the weekend and the PD team love Halloween as we get to use our creative skills in a slightly different way and carve up some pumpkins! You may not know that here at Plant Designs we thoroughly embrace the changing seasons, particularly we love the challenge of creating a seasonal display, be it for Valentines, Easter or, our favourite, Halloween. Here are some images of some past and present Halloween displays...

We added a touch of gothic horror with some heavy-looking chains to this display.

We used a mixture of spiky yellow Guzmanias and lovely red Anthuriums to create this Autumnal display. And what Halloween display is complete without crates of autumn root veggies and a bowl of spooky chocolate treats.

One of the benefits of getting the task of carving the pumpkins is that we get to keep the seeds. And there are some excellent recipes for cooking Pumpkin seeds. Here’s one our favourites (from the lovely

n.b. For the pumpkin spice mix, use a blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and ground cloves.

Don’t forget we can design displays for any event you may be having at your office, pumpkins or not!
